Event Details

One Acadiana is continuing our CivicCon Acadiana event series with a focus on why measuring and messaging matter. Join us as we unveil a new regional dashboard to track Acadiana’s key performance indicators, and uncover why the way we present Acadiana to others is so vital to our region’s success.

If you want to be a “Message Maker,” register for this important civic conversation on March 3 at Acadiana Center for the Arts!

About our speakers:
Dr. Gary Wagner - Dr. Gary Wagner is Acadiana Business Economist Endowed Chair at the UL Lafayette B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. In this role, he monitors the regional economic environment, conducts research and analysis, and disseminates results with the business community. Dr. Wagner will frame the discussion with a regional economic overview and an update on how Acadiana’s economy has been evolving and diversifying.

Dr. Stephen Barnes - Dr. Stephen Barnes is director of the Kathleen Blanco Public Policy Center at UL Lafayette, where he is also an associate professor in the Department of Economics and Finance. Dr. Barnes will add his perspective on the state of the Acadiana economy and present a new regional dashboard co-created by the Blanco Center and One Acadiana to help track Acadiana’s key performance indicators.

Dottie DeHart - Dottie DeHart is Principal at DeHart & Company, where she has become a seasoned media specialist. She also supports Quint Studer as publicist and member of the Vibrant Community Partners team. Dottie will round out the presentation by explaining the “why” behind measurement tools like a regional dashboard and our recent Quality-of-Life Survey. Then she’ll tie it all together by explaining the “why” behind the broader Vibrant Acadiana initiative and how we can all play a role as positive messengers and evangelists for a more vibrant community and region.
